The "Spiritual" Aspect of Remote Viewing

How a new mind technology spurs personal growth.

   I grimace when I am asked if Remote Viewing is a spiritual tool because it isn't, but it does have a spiritual aspect to it. In answering this question, I cannot say that it is not a spiritual practice—yet It would be inaccurate to define it as a 'spiritual technology'. To be clear, let me first share my definition of spirituality with you. Spirituality, as I see it, is a practice which inspires and compels the evolution and growth of the whole human being. When discerning the differences between spiritual technologies and Remote Viewing, it is wise to first separate the technology of Remote Viewing from the practitioner, the Remote Viewer.

An Evolving Skill

   I call Remote Viewing 'an evolving skill', because the technology has an intrinsically ingrained propensity for infinite growth. Combined with consistent use, it compels the practitioner to grow as well. However, human beings have become creatures of habit and mankind's common social structure is particularly adverse to anything new that brings into question their customs, traditions and belief systems. Herein lies the dilemma: a skill that promotes evolution ignites growth, when growth occurs, it stretches and when it stretches, it causes an upset in the external environment, whether it be a social formation (like a family or neighborhood) or an individual psychological system (a single person). When evolution cracks the door, everybody becomes upset. So it seems that people tend to dance around the idea of evolution and celebrate it, discuss it, analyze it, teach it and sell it... rather then participate in its dynamic and often times gritty and termagant ways.

The Analytical Equation

   Remote Viewers who use the skill for problem solving, whether it be for monetary enrichment or for their personal spiritual quest, eventually discover (usually when it is conspicuously apparent) that the Remote Viewer cannot rule himself out of the analytical equation. To find "the solution" in any problem solving session or series of sessions requires an objective analysis. This is an area that has caused more confusion and disappointment then any other in remote viewing applications. Those who jump to conclusions or who operate strictly solo as a common course, mis-analyze their session data and end up believing (or even worse—perpetuating) an erroneous conclusion. After somebody or something has inevitably suffered due to their mistake, they then re-examine their process—and that's when you may hear them say, "the answer was there, sitting right in front of me and yet I didn't see it! I thought it was just like the blah... blah... blah... (insert contents of an idea that has nothing to do with their TRV session data)."

Self Awareness

   After reading this, some will rush (again) to a conclusion and think about conjuring up templates and graphs to create a system for analysis, but again that would be in error. The key to becoming a superb analyst is knowing what cards you, the participant and analyst, are holding in the equation. The game that must ultimately be played is called the game of life, and self-discovery is the prize. To win the prize, there are no shortcuts or back doors. This is a game that cheaters cannot play. So, if discovering who you are classifies this skill as a spiritual tool for you, then so be it. But do not misrepresent this technology as a religion. Although it shares many characteristics of a religion, we do not pray to a TRV God!

The Human Flaw

   Self-awareness means looking at yourself honestly. In many cases it means peeling away layers of external wrappers that have been protecting and hiding an internal environment for so long that you may even deny its existence. Denial is a defensive posture that hardens the external layers and thus causes them to become rigid and brittle, so brittle that they (contrary to their original purpose) end up growing more and more fragile. Paradoxically the psyche who tries to appear tough hides his soft interior using transparent means that he does not see. This syndrome is what I refer to as "the human flaw" and it does not prevent a person from being able to Remote View but it does indeed fog his sight so that he cannot see the answers. In the final equation, for a person to use this skill for problem solving it does not matter how accurately he can download data from the Matrix if in the end, he cannot see it accurately for himself.

The Perfect High (or The Quest of Gimmesome Roy)    There once was a boy called Gimmesome Roy, he was nothing like me or you, 'Cause laying back and getting high was all he cared to do. As a kid, he sat down in his cellar, sniffing airplane glue, And then he smoked bananas—which was then the thing to do. He tried aspirin and Coca-Cola, breathed helium on the sly, And his life was just one endless search to find that perfect high.    But grass just made him want to lay back and eat chocolate-chip pizza all night, And the great things he wrote while he was stoned looked like shit in the morning light, And speed just made him rap all day, reds just laid him back, And Cocaine Rose was sweet to his nose, but her price nearly broke his back. He tried PCP and THC, but they didn't quite do the trick, And poppers nearly blew his heart and mushrooms made him sick. Acid made him see the light, but he never remembered it long, And hashish was just a little too weak, and smack was a lot too strong, And Quaaludes made him stumble, and booze just made him cry, Till he heard of a cat named Baba Fats who knew of the perfect high.    Now, Baba Fats was a hermit cat who lived up in Nepal, High on a craggy mountaintop, up a sheer and icy wall. "But hell," says Roy, "I'm a healthy boy, and I'll crawl or climb or fly, But I'll find that guru who'll give me the clue as to what's the perfect high." So out and off goes Gimmesome Roy to the land that knows no time, Up a trail no man could conquer to a cliff no man could climb.    For fourteen years he tries that cliff, then back down again he slides, Then sits—and cries—and climbs again, pursuing that perfect high. He's grinding his teeth, he's coughing blood, he's aching and shaking and weak, As starving and sore and bleeding and tore he reaches the mountain peak. And his eyes blink red like a snow-blind wolf and he snarls the snarl of a rat, As there in perfect repose and wearing no clothes—sits the godlike Baba Fats.    "What's happening, Fats?" says Roy with joy. "I come to state my biz. I hear you're hip to the perfect trip. Please tell me what it is. For you can see," says Roy to he, "that I'm about to die, So for my last ride, Fats, how can I achieve that perfect high?" "Well, dog my cats," says Baba Fats, "here's one more burnt-out soul, Who's looking for some alchemist to turn his trip to gold. But you won't find it in no dealer's stash, or on no druggist's shelf. Son, if you seek the perfect high—find it in yourself."    Why, you jive motherf**ker," screamed Gimmesome Roy, "I've climbed through rain and sleet, I've lost three fingers off my hands and four toes off my feet. I've braved the lair of the polar bear and tasted the maggot's kiss. Now you tell me the high is in MYSELF, what kind of shit is this? My ears 'fore they froze off," says Roy, "had heard all kinds of crap, But I didn't climb for fourteen years to listen to that sophomore rap. And I didn't crawl up here to hear that the high is on the natch, So you tell me where the REAL stuff is or I'll kill your guru ass."    "OK, OK," says Baba Fats, "you're forcing it out of me. There is a land beyond the sun that's known as Zaboli, A wretched land of stone and sand where snakes and buzzards scream, And in that devil's garden grows the mystic Tzu-Tzu tree, And every ten years it blooms one flower as white as the Key West sky, And he who eats of that Tzu-Tzu flower will know the perfect high, For the rush comes on like a tidal wave and it hits like the blazing sun, And the high, it lasts a lifetime and the down don't ever come. But the Zaboli land is ruled by a giant who stands twelve cubits high. With eyes of red in his hundred heads, he waits for the passers-by. And you must slay that red-eyed giant and then swim the River of Slime Where the mucous beasts, they wait to feast on those who journey by. And if you survive the giant and the beasts and swim that slimy sea, There's a blood-drinking witch who sharpens her teeth as she guards that Tzu-Tzu tree."    "To hell with your witches and giants," laughs Roy. And with tears of joy in his snow-blind eye, Roy hands the guru a five, Then back down the icy mountain he crawls, pursuing that perfect high.
