Enhancing Performance With A Blind Target Pool

   So, you are learning to TRV! You have done dozens, or even hundreds of training targets... at some point it is time to "take the car out of the garage" and start using this skill in a practical "real world" way.

   That is why you learned TRV right? To find out about stuff that is interesting to YOU.

   Now is the time to start building and maintaining a "Blind Target Pool".

   Below I will share with you some of the things we (Mary and I) have done to build and organize our blind pool.

   Once every few weeks we write out every cue on a single sheet and go thru them carefully to make sure they are worded correctly ( how to properly word a cue is a whole other subject).

   (As targets come up that we are curious about during the normal course of life, we make a note and save them all up for the time when we next are going to work at replenishing our blind pool.)

   We then prepare each target. (write it up on a sheet of paper, assign a random TRN, put it in a folder and the folder in an envelope with the TRN on a post it on the outside of the envelope)

   We also keep a log of each target in a 3 ring binder. We have them organized in two ways.

   1. We have a section for each number 0-9. If a TRN starts with a 0 then we list the entire TRN and the cue in the 0 section, etc. This way if we want to look at what a cue is by TRN it makes it easier. Believe me, once you have done hundreds, or even thousands of targets it makes it much easier to have this reference.

   2. We also have a "subject" section. Health, spiritual, work related, fun, etc. We also log each target into the most appropriate category-both the TRN and the cue.

   We then keep the pile (blind pool) of target envelopes at ready. When either of us wants to do a target we just go to the pile and shuffle them around and pull one out. If it is one neither of us has done, then once we have finished our session and looked at the cue, we put it back in the envelope and put our initials on the bottom of the post it and put it back in the pile.

   This works well for Mary and I. We are both blind when working targets of interest to us (OR targets that we have put in the blind pool from others that want us to find something out), and we get corroboration by having two of us work each target.

   Before Mary started TRV'ing, I did a similar arrangement with Jonathan. There is no reason why every TRVer cannot make an arrangement with a fellow TRVer to share a blind pool if they wanted.
