Spousal Acceptance: Winning Over Skeptical Minds
by Lani George
When I first started studying Technical Remote Viewing last December, I realized very quickly that this was a legitimate and mind-boggling technology. But my husband, a cynical and suspicious 20-year veteran of the local police department, just laughed. When I started submitting Targets Of The Week, and showed him some of the sessions done by the more experienced viewers, his reply was that they were "shills" and not "students."
Exasperated, I finally asked what it would take to convince him that this was "real." He replied, three sessions where I "nailed" it. But, he added, "it's all smoke and mirrors. You're just getting lucky sometimes. Pure coincidence."
The first session that raised his eyebrows was a Target Of The Week session where the cue was the cause of the shuttle disaster. This turned out to be a very good session for me. I drew what looked like heat tiles on one sketch, the nose cone of the shuttle on another, and had a lot of data that couldn't be "explained away." He admitted I appeared to have nailed it, but that I was guessing because it was in the news.
I kept practicing. Every time he saw me logging into
TRV University, he would shake his head and mutter, "NOT TRV again!! It's ALL SMOKE AND MIRRORS." I was afraid he'd try to tell me to stop, but he never did. I believe the reason he didn't was that, although he thought TRV was absolutely a scam or useless at best, he would defend to the death my rather sporadic telepathic ability. I think that deep down in his mind, there was just enough open-mindedness to keep him from issuing an edict.
The second session that got his attention came about a month later on another Target Of The Week. This time the target cue was related to the key to human life extension. My session, although not stellar, showed sketches of scientific or medical researchers and I had concluded in my analysis that they were trying to find ways to cure disease.
Nothing had been in the headlines or news on this subject. There had been no prior Targets Of The Week on anything remotely related to this subject. How could this be coincidence or a lucky guess? He was very, very quiet.

Finally, a couple of weeks ago, I ran a blind training target session on what turned out be the target "Mother Theresa." I drew three compelling sketches. The first was of a lone figure walking up a steep slope towards a "palace". But it wasn't an easy walk. The figure went backwards sometimes, then forwards on the journey.
The second sketch showed a kneeling figure with arms outstretched towards a "sun". There were intangibles of "ecstasy" and "oblivious". A mind probe revealed a person with compassion, love, kindness, caring, prayer, "like a sun" and "like steel."
The final sketch showed two hands in prayer pointing towards a cross. From this and other data, I concluded that the target was a person of great compassion, love and kindness and probably a Christian. During the session I guessed the identity to be Mother Theresa because of the recurring colors of blue and white (her order colors) and the data of the person being "short."
When I realized the target WAS Mother Theresa, my heart stopped for a moment. I was thrilled. I couldn't wait to show doubting husband THIS one.
He came home that night off second shift. I felt like a tiger lying in wait for its prey.
"I have something to show you."
"Not another TRV thing. It's just smoke and mirrors."
"Here, look at this." I showed him the sketches and the summary and analysis.
"Alright, alright, I get the picture. So what was the target?"
"Mother Theresa."
There was complete silence.
"You sure you didn't peek?"
"Put me on a lie detector, if you want to." I let it sink in for a moment. "Now, did I or did I not nail that one? HMMMM?"
"Alright. You nailed it."
"I want you to concede that this is NOT smoke and mirrors. Do you or do you not concede?"
There was a long silence. Doubting husband walked around the kitchen a couple of times, lost in thought. "There was no way for you to know the target ahead of time?"
"No."
Finally, after another lap around the kitchen, he said, "Alright. I concede it's not smoke and mirrors."
Now that the dust has settled, husband is helping me prepare blind targets, and may even be slipping in a few relating to police work down the road. I try not to gloat, of course. But that can be difficult. No matter - he can take it. After all, I had to put up with his "smoke and mirrors" mantra for months, didn't I? I deserve a bit of gloating , I think, as well as an occasional smug smile.
Technical Remote Viewing Found My New Home: So how could I make such a drastic decision based upon words and sketched produced on paper? Almost 2 years of TRVing every day has provided me with a strong sense of confidence regarding TRV data. A small sampling of the reasons are listed below.
The True History of Remote Viewing As It’s Never Been Told Before: Not a week goes by that I don't have to correct someone about PSI TECH's background and the truth about remote viewing history. Historical facts may seem silly and trite to those of us who have been TRV practitioners for many years, but as time goes by, people forget what it took to bring this remarkable technology out of the confines of the military and into public awareness.
Mystery Of The Lost Kitty: Little Fox was one of Joan's favorite cats (she has a dozen or so) and the little feline never stayed away from the house for more than a few days. When I got a request to TRV the location of the cat, she had been gone for three months. Joan was really worried.
History Helped Shape The Future of Remote Viewing: I would like to revisit the history and the public perception of Remote Viewing. It all began between the years of 1982 and 1983 while a prominent psychic who was working with a world-renowned physicist realized a breakthrough discovery in psychic phenomenon.
"They Mocked Me With Their Eyes...Until I Revealed Their Secret Christmas Present They Had Hidden Away For Me": I had been informed that I was getting a special Christmas gift, and not only was it special but it was something that I would never, ever had guessed. Well of course, I was more than just a little curious, but for weeks it never occurred to me to TRV it. Then one day the idea hit me, and I did it almost as a joke, I would just TRV it!
Who Can Learn TRV?: When the remote viewing military team was operating at Fort Meade, Maryland, a psychologist was hired and tasked to study the team and determine what the criteria was that would make the best remote viewer. They performed test after test, and when the study was through and the report submitted, it was revealed that there are no key recognizable selection criteria.
Imagine if You Could Do This...: Upon realizing that they have the ability to successfully remote view, every person who learns TRV is forever changed. Their paradigm is dramatically shifted and their horizons are expanded. Abilities that they had always been told were impossible are suddenly possible. Their lives will never be the same.
My Last "I Bet You Can't Remote View it" Bet!: The day my wife Nora lost her small medication bottle, and Joni said she could easily "remote view" the location, I laughed and doubted her. In fact, I bet her that she could not do it!
Three Breakthroughs At TRV University: TRV U was developed using state of the art internet technology to create a virtual campus environment for teaching advanced mind skills. It is just the beginning of a new generation of mind development training. A powerful platform for teaching TRV. Here's what we did and why.
Be Careful What You Task For: As I opened the front door sunshine spilled into the house, and there, sitting on my welcome mat, looking quite dapper himself with furry feet and a full-length coat of white, was a five-pound rabbit.
Technical Remote Viewing Applications: What Can TRV Do For Me?: When our students learn Technical Remote Viewing and realize how effective the technology is, one of their most commonly asked questions is, "How can I incorporate this skill into my every day life?"
"Prove To Me That TRV Is Real": We occasionally receive letters from people who state, "Show me proof that remote viewing is real." Most people who come to us are open minded and seriously want to learn more. For them, we offer the following informative links about the history of Technical Remote Viewing and examples of how people have applied TRV in their everyday lives.
Lecture on Remote Viewing as a Research Tool: The following speech was given by Major General Stubblebine, an important advocate of the military use of Psi and related techniques. This took place at the International Symposium on UFO Research Sponsored by the International Association for New Science Denver, Colorado.
TRV Contest Winning Session: On December 7, 2001, PSI TECH announced our first Technical Remote Viewing Contest. The following submission was selected as as the winning session. The winner is a PSI TECH trained Technical Remote Viewer from Europe who learned the skill of TRV via PSI TECH's video training course and Online Training Center.
The TRV Contest Winning Session: Kyle, a 25 year old physics major from Europe, and winner of the first Technical Remote Viewing contest, defended his title valiantly. When I notified Kyle that he had won a second time, as the online students were waiting anxiously, I jokingly told him that he should run for his life.
The Language Barrier And Technical Remote Viewing: What I can share from my relative short experience with this issue is that initially it can be confusing and demand and a much higher effort in concentration. During the first sessions there's a sense of disorientation and our brain will often produce words in both languages, which demands a strong conscious effort to think in English.
